JIM
ADLER grew up in St. Louis and earned a Bachelor’s degree
in Psychology in 3½ years from the University of Missouri-Columbia
in 1974 where he was a University Scholar and on the Dean’s List.
He earned a Juris Doctorate of Law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas
City in 1978. Jim holds an AV rating (the highest rating) from Martindale
Hubbell, a company that evaluates lawyers. He is among a select group
of attorneys recognized by his peers with a high rating for both his Ethical
Standards and Legal Quality. He is admitted to practice by the United
States Supreme Court, the highest court in the land.During law school, Jim tried cases in the Jackson County Prosecutor’s office and clerked for the highly regarded personal injury law firm of Morris, Foust, Beckett and Ponick.
Since 1978 Jim has headed his own law firm, since 1995 in partnership with attorney Bill Manson. Jim has handled literally thousands of cases and was selected by The Kansas City Star to author a series of articles on legal topics. He was selected for membership by Outstanding Lawyers of America and The Metropolitan Who's Who Registry. He also has authored articles for legal and mainstream publications.
BILL
MANSON holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration-Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia
and a Juris Doctorate of Law degree from the University
of Missouri-Kansas City. Like his partner, Bill holds
the highest legal rating (AV) from Martindale Hubbell.Bill began his legal career with Polsinelli, White, Vardeman & Shalton, one of Kansas City’s largest law firms. From 1986 through 1989, he completed multi-million dollar mergers and acquisitions in the firm’s Corporate Law department. Bill opened his own law practice in 1989 and formed ADLER & MANSON with Jim Adler in 1995.
To help finance his education, Bill played drums in rock bands. He developed a love of hockey while growing up in St. Louis and played in a Kansas City men’s league until sidelined by an injury in 2002. Bill continues to enjoy coaching his young son’s hockey team. He is a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Lenexa, Kansas.
Support Staff
ADLER & MANSON is very proud that our support staff is comprised of loyal, dedicated professionals. In fact, two of our three legal assistants have been with the firm since its inception.
Melinda Klinkenberg works on commercial litigation matters. She has been a legal assistant for over 25 years and has worked with Jim Adler since 1981. Lori Johns assists Adler & Manson attorneys on personal injury claims. She joined the firm in 1987. Delores Akers joined the firm in 2001. She assists Adler & Manson attorneys on personal injury and workers' compensation claims. Debbie Daly, who worked as a federal investigator for the USDA for five years, also assists with personal injury and worker's compensation claims and joined the firm in 2005.
